Weekly Wrap Up

It’s the Winter Solstice! And horrifically rainy here…I wish it was snow! It snowed last year on Christmas morning and it was the most PERFECT thing I’ve ever experienced. My fingers and toes are crossed that we’ll get another dusting on Christmas…but it’s currently 60 degrees and POURING.

This week was a decent week for reading. I’m so excited for Christmas but I also can’t wait for my birthday weekend! We are going to a place called The Christmas Farm Inn in New Hampshire. It should be brilliant!

Here’s what I read this week.

Books Finished: Winter Solstice

Read my review here

Currently: Becoming by Michelle Obama

It is so wonderful this far. I’m only about 100 pages in but I’m savoring this book! Her writing is so compelling. She just pulls you in!

Next Up: A Simple Favor

I don’t know if I’ll to this before it expires in my Overdrive account, but I haven’t seen the movie yet so I’m excited to see what it’s all about!

Recommendation: A Christmas Carol

My mom and I watched The Man Who Invented Christmas yesterday and enjoyed it! Now, The Muppets’ Christmas Carol will always be superior to any telling, but we love Dan Stevens and thought it was a pretty good movie. Christoper Plummer’s Scrooge is iconic.

But did you know A Christmas Carol was written in only 6 weeks? It’s a short little book and I haven’t read it since I was in fifth grade. I think I’m going to have to give it a reread before Christmas Eve!

I hope you had a good week and are excited for the upcoming holiday!! Nick gets to my parents’ house on Sunday and I cannot wait to kick off holiday party madness!
